LIONCART BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT

Coursework Project for INSC 526

Year :

2023

Industry :

Academic Coursework

Client :

Penn State University

Project Duration :

15 weeks

Problem :

LionCart, a fictional omnichannel retail company for Penn State fans, needed a clear business process structure to support online shopping, mobile access, in-person pickup, inventory, point-of-sale systems, HR, and business intelligence. The company needed connected systems to keep operations organized and efficient.

Solution :

Our team created business process diagrams, value chain analysis, process documentation, and enterprise application models. My focus was inventory management, including checking stock, adding new stock, updating quantities, transferring stock, removing expired items, recording damaged goods, and maintaining stock adjustment logs.

Challenge :

The challenge was showing how each system worked individually while also explaining how they connected across the business. Inventory management had to support accurate stock levels, warehouse tasks, customer orders, sales updates, and decision-making across multiple retail channels.

Summary :

This project allowed me to explore business process management, inventory systems, system integration, and retail operations. It shows my ability to document workflows, analyze business needs, and design organized processes that support smoother user and employee experiences.
